The Navisto studio is a decently equiped home studio with digital mixing units, high quality synthesizers, effects, and monitoring, and professional software tools.

During the last few years as composer and musician, I gathered quite some experience as an audio engineer. If you are a hobby musician or a band with limited experience and/or equipment, I can offer the following services:

  • Recording and mixing: I can handle multi-track recording and mixing using two digital mixers, external effect units, or completely software based. The studio is not equiped for recording a full rock band, but I'd be glad to help out as audio engineer if you rent the necessary equipment.
  • Mastering: This is the process of polishing the stereo mixdown into the final product to be burned onto CD. This includes balanced frequency spectra and loudness over a full album, fixing minor glitches, and pushing the loudness levels to what you hear on professional records and on the radio.

Previous projects include voice and guitar recordings for Irregular Slinky, classical flute and guitar and solo flute projects.

Know your limits: If you are working on a release for a major label, you should consider hiring a professional audio engineer with "golden ears" acquired during years of experience. A good address could be Dan Suter from the echochamber. But if you are a hobby band on a budget, working towards a high-quality demo tape or a small run of CDs, I am sure we can arrange a fair deal that benefits both parties.
